I love experimenting with my air fryer and have quite a bit of experience preparing various dishes. So I recommend cooking chicken pieces at 380Β°F (190Β°C) for 7-11 minutes. It’s important to shake the basket every few minutes for even cooking.

Why is this a basic recipe?
The chicken cubes are juicy and delicious. There’s no heavy breading. You can make them ahead and store them in the fridge. For a side, you can prepare black beans and brown rice in a pot.
One of the key things about cooking in an air fryer is understanding that water is not your friend.
Tips and Tricks
So, before diving into the sauce, hereβs my simple recipe for making crispy chicken cubes. Here are a few tips for this recipe:
- If you want to enjoy them as a snack, consider drizzling with flavoured oil.
- Parchment paper is your friend. It makes cleanup easier.
- Be generous with cornstarch. The chicken pieces should feel dry to the touch.

How to Store Leftovers?
Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months. I do not recommend using the air fryer for reheating, as they will dry out too much. I suggest placing the cooked chicken pieces in a sealed foil packet with a bit of water or chicken broth and placing it in the oven until fully heated. You can also add 1 tbsp of butter to a large skillet, add the cooked chicken pieces, and heat over medium until fully warmed, stirring occasionally.
Nutritionist Tips
- Use minimal processed sauces and seasonings. Natural spices and fresh ingredients are always better.
- Limit the use of sugar. You can skip it altogether or replace it with a small amount of honey or maple syrup.
- Add some flax or chia seeds to the seasonings for an extra source of omega-3 fatty acids and fibre.
